A charming village with 3 pubs, a local shop and a lovely pond with ducks on it year round. Walkington is a 15-20 minute walk from us and is a lovely place to explore. The Ferguson Fawsitt pub serves food and refreshments and is highly recommended, nearby is the Dog and Duck which also serves food and The Barrel which serves only drinks and opens in the afternoon.

Beverley Minster a large churchBeverley

Beverley is a historic market town, the main market day is Saturday and features a range of local vendors, there is also a smaller one on Wednesdays. The town is around 2 miles walk from the cottages, and is perfect for a day out. It can be reached by a walk or cycle ride across the Westwood, alternatively there is also the 180 bus that stops close by the farm.

There are a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and bars to enjoy. Notable landmarks include Beverley Minster, St Mary’s Church and Beverley Racecourse among others. For more ideas for car free activities in Beverley see our information page on Beverley.

Walking Trails

There are numerous scenic walks around us, just across the road to the south is the Walkington Circular, a couple hours walk through a lovely wood. The route is popular with dog walkers and I have even seen deer from the trail in summer.

There is also a public footpath off the road which leads to Beverley Westwood, home to Black Mills and a free pasture, seasonally home to cows.

Our cottage information packs contain comprehensive guides on the walking routes in the area.

There is also a cycle path right outside the cottages going to Walkington or Beverley, our information packs in the cottages also contain a wealth of resources about different cycle routes in the area.

Relax on the Farm

Or why not stay on the farm and sit around the firepit together, watch a beautiful sunset or meet our sheep.
