We were all delighted by the standard of the accommodation and the lovely countryside it is in.
Walkington village, about 20 mins walk away, boasts 3 pubs - perfect for a walk and refreshments. Beverley a few miles away is a delightful small market town with a very good selection of shops/cafes and Saturday market. Further afield in Hull, there are lots of museums and a fabulous aquarium, where we spent a very enjoyable 2 hours.
The houses themselves are very well equipped with luxurious bedding and towels, extremely well resourced kitchens and quality furnishings.
It really is so nice to stay somewhere with this level of consideration to comfort and attention to detail. Many thanks Elaine. read lessSue J.26/05/22Hen Do Weekend We visited as a group of 16 people for a hen do weekend. A totally amazing place to stay, the photos honestly do not to it justice to how gorgeous these lodges are and the surroundings. Everywhere beautifully cleaned. A fire pit which we enjoyed on a evening.

Pulling up, it was like home from home such a beautiful place with outstanding views of the countryside and the sheep and lambs. Spotted the Owl on a couple of occasions this year and met up with Wayne and Julie, a lovely couple staying as well.We go every year in May to Beverley, such a beautiful town and surrounding area. So much to see and do, something different each visit. It is so lovely , after a busy day out to return to The Barn at Broadgate Cottages, so clean, well furnished and equipped. Nothing is too much trouble for Elaine and she always wants to make our visit as if it was our first. The standards of cleaning carried out by the housekeeping team is first class and always to a very high standard.Make sure you have a meal at the Beverley Arms , Ferguson Fawcett and visit, Whitby, York, Scarborough. The Chocolate Story in York is definitely worth a visit as is the open top bus tour. Fish and Chips in the Magpie in Whitby is not to be missed. So much to do and not enough time. Two kitchens, lounges, dining areas both in and out meaning we all had lots of space.Bedrooms very comfortable and numerous showers, wet room etc the underfloor heating meant we were really cosy at all times, so didn’t need log burner. We had several meals out, Pipe & Glass was excellent. Location was ideal for our numerous trips out.I’d thoroughly recommend and suggest booking up! read less

We have stayed in a few of the different cottages and they are always very clean and have everything you need. We bring our dogs but there's never evidence that other pets have been there before us. We love the fact that they are heated by eco friendly ground source heat pump. The cottages are in a beautiful location and it's easy to walk into Beverley via the Westwood. read less

The cottages were very clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We required some additional mobility aids for The Stables which were promptly provided.
Elaine was able to provide baby equipment such as a travel cot and high chair. There were also plastic utensils and plates/bowls/cups in the cottages with kids as well as a baby bath in Foldyard (which had a wet room only).
The Foldyard had a lovely big enclosed garden so is recommended if you have small children who need constant supervise or a dog
The grounds were as well kept as the cottages and the children enjoyed playing with children from neighbouring cottages. Elaine also took them to see the lambs which they loved.
The location was superb - we had lots of lovely days out, were close to all necessary amenities and it was also straightforward to have groceries delivered.
Elaine was very accommodating, her cottages were fantastic and we all agreed that we would love to return. read lessnicolapB7419BJ30/04/22Brilliant Cottage we stayed at the Cart house and had the complete cottage . We have self catered for over 40 years and we both agree this was the most well organised we have experienced, from the booking of the holiday and all the information sent before hand that allows you to plan your break, the information around the cottage in the relevant places that guides you to what you need to know. Even the recycling is super easy. Best of all the cottage was very comfortable & cosy even in the cold weather we had towards the end of the week. Bed was super comfortable, lovely fluffy towels and plenty of hot water and the kitchen had everything you could need. Good quality crockery, plenty cupboard space plus lovely view over the fields. What more could you want..........recommend the fish & chips from the visiting van in the village on Tuesday evenings, lovely crispy chips! read less

Everything in the cottages is spotless, tasteful and of very high quality. A lovely private courtyard to relax with a glass of wine in the early evenings when it was sunny, or to just sit and read in the daytime, and a cosy log burner for the evenings when we had sleet and a dusting of snow. Beautiful views from the cottage over open fields. So much to do in the area - we tried some of the walks in the excellent information folder provided by Elaine, enjoyed taking our dog on The Westwood, visited York which was only a 45 minute drive, had a drink at The Barrel in the quaint nearby village of Walkington which is just a 15 minute stroll away and where the locals are really friendly, and tried more of the quality restaurants and pubs in the area, of which there are many. Beverley itself has a lovely atmosphere, with the Minster, markets and interesting independent shops. We are looking forward to returning again very soon! read less

It's a small cottage but perfectly adequate for two people and the fittings and furnishings were of top quality.
East Yorkshire is lovely and Beverley is an interesting town. We were lucky that the weather was good, mostly sunny and warm. We spent our time exploring the countryside, the coastline up to Scarborough, and York.
It was a super week away for us and I'm very pleased I booked it. read lesssimonb65831/03/22
