Located between Walkington and Beverley in East Yorkshire


Yorkshire is a wonderful county - yes we are probably biased but come and see for yourself all that Yorkshire has to offer!

Set on the edge of the scenic Yorkshire Wolds in the heart of East Yorkshire close to Beverley Broadgate Farm Cottages is perfectly located for exploring the delights of the area. All our cottages are on the farm yet just 2 miles from the centre of Beverley and only a mile from Walkington Village. The best of both worlds! You have views across the fields with farm animals, wildlife and walks on the door step yet within easy reach of pubs, shops and restaurants.

Beverley is a delightful market town, stroll around the quaintly named streets, check out the market or try one of the many stunning restaurants on offer. You can walk into Beverley or take a bus if you fancy leaving the car at home.

Walkington is a lovely village with a picturesque duck pond and some rather controversial terrapins. There are three pubs, two serve food, one serves a great pint and another also has a daytime coffee shop. We also have a local shop for those items you may have forgotten. The next village is Bishop Burton, home to Bishop Burton College.

East Yorkshire is a historic county known for its rolling countryside, charming coastal towns, and rich history and heritage. We are only 10 miles from Hull – a city with a proud maritime heritage and a host of attractions & activities including the Deep & Wilberforce House.

The coast is within easy reach with the coastal towns of Bridlington and Hornsea which offer sandy beaches, cliff-top walks, and traditional seaside entertainment. There is much more to do in exploring the coastline, sample the unspoilt environment at Spurn Point a designated National Nature Reserve & Heritage Coast or try the rock pools at Flamborough Headland another designated Heritage Coast and RSPB Bempton Cliffs, a stunning nature reserve that is home to hundreds of thousands of seabirds, including puffins, gannets, and guillemots. We have Blue Flag beaches at Bridlington & Hornsea and don’t miss Fraisthorpes’ lovely long sandy beach.

Thres is a lot more to see, the medieval city of Beverley, known for its 13th-century Minster and well-preserved Georgian architecture, the historic town of Pocklington, which is known for its weekly market, independent shops and cafes, and the Pocklington Arts Centre. The Yorkshire Wolds, an area of rolling hills and picturesque countryside dotted with charming villages and historic houses.

The holiday cottages are convenient for visitors to Beverley, Hull, Cottingham, Willerby, Skidby, Bishop Burton, Cherry Burton, Leconfield, the Yorkshire Wolds, the Yorkshire coast and York. Yorkshire was traditionally divided into three ridings, East Yorkshire, West Yorkshire & North Yorkshire, a structure for local government that lasted for centuries. There are now four counties in Yorkshire :- South Yorkshire; North Yorkshire; West Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
