Public Transport Options to the Farm

A More Sustainable Way to Travel

We encourage our guests to consider leaving the car behind and choose a more sustainable way to travel. Whether that’s by public transport, walking or cycling, it’s a brilliant way to lower your carbon footprint and soak up more of the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside along the way.

Getting Here by Public Transport

We’re just outside the historic market town of Beverley, linked by a bus route and network of footpaths that can make a car-free break a realistic and rewarding way to explore our local area.

Please note: the bus times change seasonally, as the service is reduced during the winter, it’s always best to double-check the stagecoach website before you travel for accurate times.

Arriving From York

Coming from York? It’s a pretty straightforward journey with a couple of options:

  • Take a train from York to Hull and then change to Beverley. Trains run regularly throughout the day and the whole journey takes a couple of hours, then hop on the 180 bus toward Walkington (the bus station is a short walk from the train station).
  • Jump on the X46 bus from York towards Hull and arrive in the centre of Beverley in just over an hour, from there take the 180 bus towards Walkington.

Some guests also choose to cycle or walk the last leg from Beverley, especially if they’re travelling light, the route’s scenic and fairly flat.

By Train from Elsewhere

Beverley is well connected to the wider rail network. There are regular services from Hull and connections from Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester. Beverley station has taxi ranks and bike storage, and it’s an easy place to start your onward journey to the farm.

On Foot or By Bike

If you’re keen to explore on foot or two wheels, you’re in the right place. The farm is tucked between rolling hills and quiet country lanes, with several long-distance footpaths and cycle routes nearby — including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and National Cycle Route 66. You’ll find plenty of peaceful routes for exploring the area once you’re here.

Why Go Car-Free?

Reducing car travel is one of the simplest ways to cut your carbon footprint. It’s not just better for the environment, it can also make your trip feel more relaxing. There’s something lovely about arriving by train or bus and letting someone else do the driving, especially when it means you can watch the countryside roll by or enjoy a good book on the way.
