A delightful market town in the Yorkshire Wolds....

Yorkshire is a wonderful county - yes we are probably biased but come and see for yourself all that Yorkshire has to offer!

Set on the edge of the scenic Yorkshire Wolds in the heart of East Yorkshire close to Beverley Broadgate Farm Cottages is perfectly located for exploring the delights of the area. Set on the farm yet just 2 miles from the centre of Beverley and only a mile from Walkington Village. The best of both worlds! You have views across the fields with farm animals, wildlife and walks on the door step yet within easy reach of pubs, shops and restaurants.

Beverley is a delightful market town, stroll around the quaintly named streets, check out the market or try one of the many stunning restaurants on offer. You can walk into Beverley or take a bus if you fancy leaving the car at home.

Walkington is a lovely village with a picturesque duck pond and some rather controversial terrapins. There are three pubs, two serve food, one serves a great pint and another aslo has a daytime coffee shop. We also have a local shop for those items you may have forgotten. The next village is Bishop Burton, home to Bishop Burton College.

We are only 10 miles from Hull – a city with a proud maritime heritage and a host of attractions & activities including the Deep & Wilberforce House

The coast is within easy reach, sample the unspoilt environment at Spurn Point a designated National Nature Reserve & Heritage Coast or try the rock pools & puffin colony at Flamborough Headland another designated Heritage Coast. We have Blue Flag beaches at Bridlington & Hornsea and don’t miss Fraisthorpes’ lovely long sandy beach.

Convenient for visitors to Beverley, Hull, Cottingham, Willerby, Skidby, Bishop Burton, Cherry Burton, Leconfield, the Yorkshire Wolds, the Yorkshire coast and York.

There is so much to do in the East Riding of Yorkshire - do have a look at our activities page and you will be astonished at just how much there is to do!

Yorkshire was traditionally divided into three ridings, East Yorkshire, West Yorkshire & North Yorkshire, a structure for local government that lasted for centuries. There are now four counties in Yorkshire :- South Yorkshire; North Yorkshire; West Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

For a more in depth look at the main places of interest have a look at these pages but do check out our activities section too
