Originally the farm’s blacksmith’s shop, The Forge is now a beautifully extended two-bedroom detached holiday cottage at Broadgate Farm. Overlooking open paddocks and Blackmeredale Bottom, it offers a relaxing countryside escape just minutes from Beverley in the stunning Yorkshire Wolds.

The fully equipped dining kitchen combines style and practicality, with granite worktops, a natural travertine floor and everything you need for a self catering stay, including a dishwasher and washing machine.
French doors open onto your private patio and fully enclosed garden, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor space. With open countryside views and sheep grazing nearby, it’s the perfect spot for relaxed meals, morning coffee, or unwinding in the fresh Yorkshire air.

Comfortable bedrooms & flexible sleeping
Upstairs, the cottage offers two well appointed bedrooms:
- A master bedroom with kingsize bed and views across the fields
- A spacious twin room that can also be arranged as a superking
There’s plenty of room for a travel cot (available free of charge), and in some cases an additional child bed can be arranged on request. Please note that both bedrooms feature partially sloping ceilings, adding to the cottage’s character.

Bathrooms & practical comforts
The cottage includes a family bathroom upstairs with a bath and shower over, as well as a convenient ground floor cloakroom.
Eco friendly central heating ensures year round comfort, while the wood burning stove adds an extra touch of warmth and atmosphere.

Outdoor space & parking
Outside, you’ll find a private enclosed garden with lawn and garden furniture, ideal for both relaxing and dining outdoors. The cottage sits right next to the paddock, offering views and a true sense of countryside living. Guests staying in any cottage can enjoy the communal outdoor areas, including a guest orchard and a stylish firepit with surrounding seating.
There is designated parking for two cars adjacent to the cottage.

Can the beds be set up as twins or superkings?
The master bedroom is a fixed king sized bed, the second bedroom has zip and link twin beds that can be combined to make a superking bed. You will be asked how you would like the beds configured when placing your booking.

Does this cottage have a log burning stove?
Yes, the Forge has a delightful wood burning stove in the living room, perfect for cosy winter evenings.

How high is the garden fence?
Your private garden has a 4 foot high fence all round, providing lovely views over the sheep pasture and surrounding farmland. All our other cottages apart from the Cart House have 6 feet high fences.

Does this cottage have room for an extra child’s bed?
The second bedroom is very spacious with plenty of room for an extra child bed (U14yrs please).
