What's new for 2012?

We have more plans for the area outside the

cottages, we will be resurfacing the road and parking areas in March. I have already bought some garden benches to place across the area - ideal for sitting and taking in the view or watching the animals. The orchard will continue to develop and it hopefully will not be too long before you have fruit to pick.

Steve is reorganising the lambing area so that we have some lambs closer to the cottages in the spring. This year we have 18 ewes lambing.

Full length mirrors are appearing in all cottages and I am introducing cycling guides and more information on local walks to the cottage information packs.

Of course we will continue to refresh the cottages decorating and replacing bedding, soft furnishings as needed.

I continue to develop the website - if you have any ideas for new sections do let me know. We have no plans at the moment to convert any more cottages but we do have room! I am hoping that Steve will have time to finish my courtyard garden this year - I am very envious of the cottage gardens!

Bookings are coming in steadily for 2012 now and the website has never been busier - wishing you all the best for 2012 and if you have time to join us it will be lovely to see you at Broadgate Farm.

Looking back on all the developments in 2011

We aim to make sure that our cottages remain fresh and are always looking for ways to improve them. In 2011 we

  • Converted a new cottage Foldyard which offers 2 bedrooms or can be linked to the Barn House to give a stunning 6 bedroom cottage.

  • Converted all cottages from the wired Internet access to Wi-Fi
  • Built BBQ stands in all the gardens for use with disposable BBQs.
  • Introduced glass table tops for all the dining tables - protects them and they look great without table clothes.
  • Replaced the metal dining chairs for more comfortable ones in the Forge & the Stables.
  • All the cottages now have flat screen TVs and HD channels.
  • We have made some improvements to the outside areas - the large concrete slab has gone (no mean feat!) to be replaced by lawn and an orchard. More improvements planned for 2012
  • Invested in a spare table that can be put up in the Granary to provide dining for 18
  • We now take credit and debit cards and you can book and pay on line 24/7.
Don't forget - low season rates until the end of March - we are quite busy but still have some availability. Join us!
