I have just finished our Guide to What is on in the Beverley area over the coming year – the early part of the year is in detail but some venues/events have yet to release details. Blacktoft Sands have released their dates for March – April – a great place to visit and these mini courses are such good value. The Spring and Summer Open Days are also well worth a visit.

Spring Open Day

Fun for everyone on this FREE day out, with guided walks, guides in hides, light refreshments, children’s activities and RSPB sales. Visit the reserve to welcome back the fantastic avocets, marsh harriers and bitterns as they return for the breeding season.
Drop in throughout the day. Free entry to the reserve.
Summer Open Day – celebrating 40 years at Blacktoft.
Sunday 16th June
10am to 4pm.
The biggest event at Blacktoft Sands this year! Join in the family fun, with guided walks, experts in the hides, fun children’s activities, light refreshments and RSPB Sales. Watch and listen to the sights and sounds of the reedbed whilst avocets, marsh harriers and many other fantastic birds are busy raising their families.

We are blessed with a great range of restaurants close to the cottages and on October 7th the prestigious Beverley Food Festival which is now in its 7th year hosts a number of different activities including food workshops, bands and entertainment.
A family day of food festivities and fun with around 80 stalls selling local produce, cookery theatre, street entertainment, local produce BBQ, competitions and much more.

Days out in East Yorkshire – try Burton Agnes Hall it is a fantastic Elizabethan Hall with lovely gardens. Only about 20 minutes from the cottages – my favourite local stately home! We still have a few vacancies over the summer months mainly short breaks.
New Japanese restaurant in Beverley! – only just opened with a restricted menu for the first few weeks. Can’t wait to try it!
Well no sooner have I told you about Starlight Express hitting Hull in October than we get a booking from some of the cast. We still have good availability but if you want to visit over October half term don’t wait too long to get your dates booked.
We also have some of the cast of Chicago booked in for the end of this month as well.
Starlight express is on at Hull New Theatre on October 16th – 27th so if you have the earlier half term week why not combine it with a visit to our holiday cottages in East Yorkshire. We still have good availability for the half term weeks.
