The Seabird Spectacular has been specially created to make the most of this unique experience in a single, action-packed day on land and at sea. This tour takes guests above, below, alongside and almost touching the inhabitants of ‘Seabird City’ with YCN’s expert on hand throughout an unforgettable date with nature.

In the morning, the MV Yorkshire Belle RSPB Puffin Cruise leaves Bridlington harbour and heads straight to the action and stunning scenery of Flamborough Head. Within minutes the excitement begins with the full all-star cast putting on an amazing show.

Gannets plunge into the sea like sparkling torpedos and clown-faced Puffins squabble within metres of the boat as the symphony of noise reaches an incredible crescendo, while Kittiwakes, Shags, Guillemots, Razorbills and Fulmars all give perfect views alongside the boat, both on the sea and in flight.

Sailing almost to within touching distance of the packed ledges and terraces, guests will be up close and personal with the stars on the dramatic, 400ft high cliffs at Bempton, eye-to-eye with some of the world’s most iconic seabirds in their hundreds of thousands.

On Returning to the harbour you will head over to Rags Hotel Bar & Restaurant, South Pier, Bridlington for a delicious 2 course lunch and drink. Rags is set in modern, relaxing surroundings with harbour views and you will find a warm welcome awaiting you.

After lunch you will be taken to the famous Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve, where the drama unfolds from a very different perspective. Special platforms overlooking the colony give unrivalled views of parents returning with their catch to feed the fluffy youngsters huddled on the ledges; along the path, meanwhile, the birds glide hundreds of metres high – at head height!

Drinks at the reserve before returning to Bridlington rounding off a unique day that will live long in the memory – truly a Seabird Spectacular to remember. Book the Seabird Spectacle now for the fantastic all inclusive price of £48

David Hockney

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

David Hockney’s Bigger Trees near Warter is at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull – its so exciting to get the chance to see it here in East Yorkshire.

It is the largest painting David Hockney has ever produced an incredible  twelve metres by four metres, the painting is made from fifty canvasses which fit together to show a scene near the East Yorkshire village of Warter. The size is truely inspiring but whats more it was painted in the open air in only six weeks.

I can’t wait to see it and we are planning a trip to the Ferens on Friday, the gallery is only a short drive from holiday cottages in yorkshire.
